THE WORLD AFTER
A movement/visual performance, created in collaboration with Neno Belchev during the artistic residency in MOVING BODY Festival, Varna, Bulgaria. Today, one step ahead of each of us is our digital representation (our alter-ego). We often forget that it is the one that communicates with the digital reproductions of others in the illusory online world of social networks. The performance explores the theme of the post-human as a hybrid, situated beyond linear time, creating a poetic image by juxtaposing the contrast between the almost still video-image and the frenetic movements of the dancer’s body. Mutated under the influence of external and internal collisions, it is still programmed to move from one place to another. “The World After” traces the trajectory of this body, torn between the attempt to move in a functional and energy-saving way and the chaotic rebellion of its constituent parts.

ORATORIA

by Anna Dankova
with Vassiliya Drebova, Galiya Kostadnova, Alexander Gochev, George Naldzhiev
Oratoria is a contemporary performance that creates a neo-dramaturgy consisting of music articulations based on variety of genres ranging from opera to trash and hardcore by using only the intonation and sound extraction of speech. It choreographs a contemporary dance from the gestures we use while speaking. The project traces human verbal development solely through the non-rational, automatic and affective aspects of speech - intonation (music) and gesture (dance). Thus Oratoria "reconstructs" a universal "authentic" proto-language, that everyone can understand, and opens up a space for research into the causes and the functions of speech as a human phenomenon.
